CBS News’ “Gossip Girls” has been renewed for a ninth season.
“Grimm” creator Joss Whedon will write and executive produce the series, which will premiere in 2019.
The new season will air on CBS.
The renewal comes on the heels of a ratings success that was bolstered by “Grizzly Peak,” “The Vampire Diaries,” and “Scandal.”
“Grummy Girl” averaged 5.6 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic during its first season and has been in steady second place since.
The drama follows the lives of two sisters, Abby and Savannah, who are drawn into the world of gossip after a mysterious incident.
In the final season, Abby will be forced to make difficult decisions that will shape her entire life.
The “Gruesome Girl” series will premiere on Monday, Sept. 14 on CBS and “Glee” on Thursday, Sept 6 on Fox.
